Little Nephites

Our ward had an Easter activity that was themed from the Book of Mormon when Jesus came to visit the Americas. My friend had brought some cute dress-ups to church one day for the kids to act out Bible stories so I asked her for the pattern. I made these adorable little head pieces from scraps. Matt's t-shirts made perfect robes. It was so fun and the kids looked adorable!

Note: for anyone that wants really casual instructions, check my comments on this post. I put them there so they wouldn't take up so much room here.

For anyone that wants instructions for the pattern of the head dress: just take any block/rectangle of scrap material (mine were anywhere between 16x24 to 36x48). Sew a 34-48" long strip, depending on how big a head you're planning for and if you want to knot the ends or time them in a bow. You can choose whatever width you want. I did mine about 2 inches. I also wanted mine to be double thick since they were going to be tied often so I actually made it double - cut a 4"x48" strip, folded in half and sewed the edge then turned it inside-out. To finish, sew about 8" of the middle of the strip to the middle of the scrap piece of material - this is what goes across the forehead. I hope this makes sense. Give me a call if you want any more details.

Clarification on pattern: sew the 8" strip to the middle of the TOP EDGE of the scrap piece. Then, when you put it on the head, put the strip across the forehead and wrap the end around the head and tie in back.
